First Assistant Dean for Artificial Intelligence Joins Mays Business School

A Mays graduate, Arnold Castro brings a wealth of experience with emerging technologies and will lead Mays' AI and Business programs

Mays Business School is excited to introduce its first assistant dean for artificial intelligence: Arnold Castro ’17 ’22. Arnold brings over 25 years of emerging technology leadership experience to Texas A&M University, combining deep expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics with a proven track record of driving innovation and organizational transformation. A graduate of Mays Business School’s MBA and Master of Science in Analytics programs, Castro previously served as the chief data & technology officer at MFG Analytic, where he helped guide organizations worldwide through their AI adoption journey. He also served as an airborne combat engineer in the U.S. Army. His expertise encompasses the full spectrum of AI technologies, from Python and R programming to machine learning, large language models, deep learning, and cloud computing platforms.

As assistant dean for artificial intelligence at Mays, Castro will lead the institution’s comprehensive AI initiatives, overseeing our two nationwide AI competitions and the development of an AI and Business minor and a Flex Online AI and Business certificate program. His role is central to integrating AI across research, teaching, and service functions, supporting Mays’ vision of building a better future through business. Under his leadership, Mays aims to inspire groundbreaking research, drive innovation, and establish itself as the leading public business school in embracing and leveraging artificial intelligence.
