Leaders at the helm of Fortune 500 companies, public institutions, and professional sports are sharing candid reflections on leadership principles, career pivots, and defining moments in a new podcast series from Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School.

The Aggie Legends podcast, launched in partnership with Mays’ Flippen Leadership Institute, features in-depth conversations with distinguished Aggie alumni whose careers span business, public service, athletics, and more. Each season includes eight to 10 episodes, offering behind-the-scenes perspectives on leadership under pressure, decision-making at the highest levels, and lessons learned beyond the classroom as organizations across multiple industries navigate economic uncertainty, workforce shifts, and rapid technological change.

“In this podcast, legendary Aggies share the moments that defined their paths and the principles that guided their decisions,” said Nate Y. Sharp, dean of Mays Business School. “Their stories reveal powerful lessons about resilience, character, and service. Every episode offers wisdom listeners can carry into their own lives and leadership journeys.”

A sampling of season one guests include:

    • Darren Woods, CEO of ExxonMobil, on staying true to yourself and leading with a 100-year vision
    • Dan Tinker, president and CEO of SRS Distribution, on taking risks and how he built and sold a company for more than $14 billion
    • Flip and Susan Flippen, co-founders of the Flippen Group, on values-based leadership, building trust, and the importance of education
    • Wayne Roberts, former CEO of Abrigo, on building culture and leading while undergoing personal hardship

Hosted by Mays MBA graduate Ben Wiggins, the podcast features long-form conversations with accomplished Aggie alumni, exploring pivotal career moments, leadership challenges, and the defining decisions that shaped their paths.

Aggie Legends shines a light on Aggies who are leading with purpose and changing the world,” said Dr. Stephen Courtright, executive director of the Flippen Leadership Institute at Mays Business School. “In boardrooms and battlefields, labs and locker rooms, and beyond, former students live out our Aggie values and make a difference every day.”

New episodes debut every other week beginning Jan. 21, and will be available on major podcast platforms, including YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon.
