Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School has been recognized among the nation’s top online graduate business programs in the 2026 Best Online Programs rankings released by U.S. News & World Report.

Mays ranked No. 1 for Best Online Master’s in Business Programs among public schools (No. 3 overall) and earned the No. 1 national designation for Best Online Master’s in Business Programs for Veterans, reflecting strong performance across academic quality, student engagement, and student support services.

“These rankings reflect the strength of our graduate business programs and the intentional work our faculty and staff put into designing an online experience that supports student success and produces meaningful outcomes for working professionals,” said Dr. Nate Y. Sharp, dean of Mays Business School.

The rankings highlight Mays’ continued focus on delivering rigorous, high-quality online education designed to meet the needs of working professionals. Programs are evaluated on criteria specific to distance education, including faculty credentials and training, student engagement, peer assessment, student services and technologies, and student excellence.

The No. 1 ranking for veterans places Mays among a select group of programs nationwide recognized for combining academic quality with flexibility, affordability, and meaningful support for military-connected students. Veteran-focused rankings consider both overall program quality and how effectively programs enable veterans and active-duty service members to access federal education benefits while completing their degrees online.

Mays’ ranking is based on its MS Analytics program and four specialized master’s programs in its Flex Online portfolio of online graduate business programs: MS Accounting, MS Human Resource Management, MS Management Information Systems, and MS Marketing. Courses are taught by the same faculty who teach in Mays’ on-campus programs and emphasize practical, real-world application aligned with today’s business challenges. The Flex Online suite stands out from traditional online education in their intentional approach in infusing the Texas A&M and Mays experience and Aggie  Core Values into every course. Additionally, the cohort-based programs include weekly live meetings that encourage student engagement.

Now in its 14th year, the U.S. News Best Online Programs rankings recognize online degree programs that demonstrate academic quality comparable to high-performing in-person offerings while being purpose-built for distance learners.
