Marketing Ph.D. student Brady Hodges was awarded second place and $750 at the International Business Pedagogy Workshops Poster Presentation at Georgia State University.

The competition was part of a workshop held by the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).

According to the CIBER website, the poster sessions were designed to showcase and share cutting-edge practices in teaching international business. Poster proposals were evaluated by a peer review committee following a double-blind process. Criteria included importance of the topic to the audience, novelty, creativity, and adaptability for use by other faculty members.

Hodges’ poster was titled “Bringing the World to Them: Merging Cross-border Partnerships and Experiential Learning in a Global Marketing Team Project & Competition.”

Mark Houston, head of the Department of Marketing at Mays Business School, called it a very important accomplishment. “We are very proud of Brady,” he said. “The award is a precursor to many great things he will accomplish as a scholar and educator.”

Hodges is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in Business Administration-Marketing at Mays. His research focuses on consumer behavior, with specific interest in behavioral pricing, psycholinguistics, conceptual and perceptual fluency and cross-cultural consumer behavior. Prior to beginning the doctoral program, Brady worked as the China Marketing Manager for Little Giant Ladder Systems in Shanghai, China.
